What’s changing?
Foursquare has merged with Factual, an industry leader in location data, tapping into their network to bring hyper-local experiences to their key partners as a data aggregator. As a result, Factual will no longer be displayed as a separate entity in our front-end.
To fully focus on its data aggregation business, Foursquare de-prioritized its existing consumer facing properties such as CityGuide and Swarm at the end of 2020 to improve their relationships and capacities as data suppliers for larger brands.

What does this mean for locations and data?
In short, with the new improved “Foursquare Everywhere”, business information will be made available to more directories and some of the world's largest companies. Starting the 1st of January 2021, data will be synced with Foursquare’s distribution network with players such as Samsung, Twitter, Snapchat, which solidifies Foursquare's position as one of our most important channels.
