If you already have already purchased a domain, and would like to point it to your website, follow these simple instructions to create and A record in your registrar (domain provider).
All of our websites come with SSL security setup at no additional cost.
- Log into your domain name registrar, and navigate to the domain that you would like to use with your website.
- Click on the DNS editor (this may be called "Advanced DNS", "DNS Settings", or "Configure DNS" depending on your registrar.
- Next, you're going to want to add or edit an A record and a CNAME record. If you were already pointing your domain to another website, you are going to want to delete or edit that one.
- Once you've located your record editor, you will want to add the new records with the following information.
- A Record
- Name/Host: @
- Type: A
- TTL: 1hr
- Value/IP/Data: 52.2.192.9
- CNAME Record
- Name/Host: www
- Type: CNAME
- TTL: 1hr
- Value/IP/Data: sitebuilderhostsite.net
- A Record
Once you have entered the records and saved them, go to your account in the platform, click the "Website" Tool and in the dropdown, go to "Domain."
Here, you can enter the domain or subdomain that you want to use for your site. If using a top level domain (not a subdomain) please include the www. and then click submit.
Make sure both of your records are saved and send an email to support@tech-toolbox.net confirming that your website records have been created. Include the business name as well as domain that you are pointing in your email. Our team will then issue the SSL and your site will be live within a few hours.
